Faculty of Pharmacy
The mission of the Faculty of Pharmacy is to promote the scientific research of drugs and their medical service, and to teach pharmaceutical subjects at the highest level. Apart from the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty has university wide responsibility for the teaching of pharmacology and toxicology.
Institute of A.I. Virtanen
The A. I. Virtanen Institute (AIVI) for Molecular Sciences is a research institute at Kuopio University. The research activities of AIVI are focused on the following areas: biotechnology, especially animal biotechnology, neurobiology, especially the neurobiology of diseases affecting the central nervous system and development of disease models for them, molecular medicine, especially gene therapy and gene transfer technology, biological signaling and imaging.
