The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (ASCR)

ASCR was established in 1992 by the Czech National Council as the Czech successor of the former Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. ASCR conducts both fundamental and strategic applied research in the life sciences to increase knowledge about processes in living organisms, from the molecular and cellular levels to the whole organism.

The Virtual Biosecurity Center (VBC) is a global multi-organizational initiative spearheaded by the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) committed to countering the threat posed by the development or use of biological weapons and the responsible use of science and technology. The VBC is the ‘one stop shop’ for biosecurity information, education, best practices, and collaboration.
